David Nguyen
brings local community stories to life as a producer and videographer
for Jane-Finch.com. In 2013, he was elected as the Ward 8
representative on the City Youth Council of Toronto.
David is passionate
about promoting science education and environmental
sustainability.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in the Biological
Anthropology program at the University of Toronto.
As a
6-year-old, he starred in one of the top ten national winning
entries for the 1999 Racism. Stop It! video competition. The
commercial was produced by Paul Nguyen and Chris Williams and
aired across Canada on Much Music.
David is a
recipient of the 2011 Volunteer Service Youth Award from the
Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, 2012 Equity and
Diversity Award from the Toronto Youth Cabinet, 2013 Aroni Image Award
and the York West Centennial Citation Medal.
In 2015, David was
presented with the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of
Canada Award by Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell at
Queen's Park.
